Willisau is a municipality in the district of Willisau in the canton of Lucerne in Switzerland. It was formed on 1 January 2006 out of the union of the previously separate municipalities of Willisau Country and Willisau City. History: Town foundation The barons von Hasenburg (master seat Asuel in law) acquire in 12. Century a for the time being modest landed property in the area Willisau. Reunification On the road map Willisau appears as a place before that 01.01.2006 formed for two autonomous political municipalities the small dye Willisau: Willisau city (337 hectars) and Willisau country (3771 hectars).
