The Cleveland Show is an upcoming American animated series created by Seth MacFarlane, as a spin-off from Family Guy, also created by Seth MacFarlane.
[edit] BackgroundThe Cleveland Show is the working title[2] for an animated series focusing on the character of Cleveland Brown and his family as he moves from Rhode Island to Virginia.[3]
In the closing credits scene of the November 2, 2008 episode of Family Guy, "Baby Not On Board", Cleveland mentions to Quagmire about getting a spin-off, thus breaking the fourth wall.[5] [edit] FamilyHis newly introduced family includes his new wife, Donna (Sanaa Lathan[6]), her 17-year-old daughter, Roberta (Nia Long[6]) and her 5-year-old son, Rallo (Mike Henry).[7][8] Cleveland Jr. is also in the family, but he is now fourteen and wearing glasses, and is much fatter and older than in his previous appearances on Family Guy.[9]. He is now voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson[8]. [edit] NeighborsCleveland's neighbors also include a family of talking anthropomorphic bears (the husband, Tim, is to be voiced by MacFarlane[8] while the wife, Arianna, is to be voiced by Arianna Huffington[8][10], a "hipster" wannabe named Holt (to be voiced by Jason Sudeikis[8][10]), a redneck couple (with the husband Lester to be voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson[6]) and an English family,[3] with the husband to be voiced by Seth MacFarlane. [edit] DebutCleveland will officially leave Family Guy, but it has been hinted that he might return for visits occasionally.[11] The show is scheduled to debut in Fall 2009.[8] The cancellation of the long-running series King of the Hill while renewing the lower-rated American Dad! leaves The Simpsons and Class Dismissed as the only non-Seth MacFarlane series in Fox's animation Sunday night lineup.[12] [edit] References
