Tetyushi (Russian: Тетюши; Tatar: Täteş, Тәтеш) is a town in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, located on the shore of Kuybyshev Reservoir, 180 km south of Kazan. Population: 11,931 (2002 Census); 10,487 (1989 Census). It was founded in the 16th century as Tetyushskaya zastava (Тетюшская застава). It was granted town status in 1781. The town was the site of a major battle during Stepan Razin's rebellion.
