Ateso (also known as Iteso or Teso) is a Nilo-Saharan language, spoken by the Iteso ethnic group in Uganda and Kenya. It is one of the Teso-Turkana cluster of languages. As of the 1991 census around 999,537 people in Uganda spoke Ateso. An estimated 279,000 people in Kenya also speak it. Its SIL code is TEO [1]. [edit] References
