The Tensaw River is a distributary of the Mobile River, approximately 36 mi (67 km) long, in southern Alabama in the United States. It is formed as a bayou of the Mobile approximately 6 mi (10 km) south of the formation of the Mobile by the confluence of the Tombigbee and Alabama rivers. The Tensaw flows alongside the Mobile and Middle rivers, with the Tensaw being the eastern most flowing river. There are numerous back channels extending off the main channel into Baldwin County. It enters Mobile Bay, (which enters the Gulf of Mexico), approximately 1.8 mi (3 km) east of the city of Mobile.
