The RG postcode area, also known as the Reading postcode area^[2], is a group of postal districts centered on Reading and Basingstoke in Southern England. As well as Reading and Basingstoke, it covers West Berkshire, including Newbury, Thatcham and Hungerford, Wokingham, Bracknell, much of North Hampshire, including Bramley, Hook and Tadley, a part of southern Oxfordshire, including Henley on Thames, and even a small portion of Buckinghamshire.

RG3 was recoded in January 1995 because of the rise in population in West Reading, and is now RG30 and RG31.^[3]
