Prince August Wilhelm Heinrich Günther Viktor of Prussia (January 29, 1887 in Potsdam, Germany–March 25, 1949 in Stuttgart, Germany), called Auwi, was the fourth son of Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany by his first wife, Augusta Viktoria of Schleswig-Holstein.
He fought in WWI and after the war joined the conservative veteran group the Stahlhelm, in 1930, against the will of his father, he joined the "dangerous, revolutionary" National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP) of Hitler, and in 1933 he become a member of the SA and the Reichstag. In 1939 he was promoted to the rank of SA-Obergruppenführer, but, after making some negative remarks about Goebbels in 1942, he lost Hitler's favour.
After the end of the war he was arrested by the Americans and sentenced to three years in jail. He was released in 1948 and died the following year. He is buried in Langenburg.
He married Princess Alexandra Victoria of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (21 April 1887 Germany - 15 April 1957 France), on 22 October 1908, with whom he had one son.
