Italo-Western is the largest sub-group of Romance languages. It comprises 38 languages in 2 subsets: Italo-Dalmatian, and Western.
- The Pyrenean-Mozarabic group consists of two languages in two separate branches: Aragonese and Mozarabic.
- The Gallo-Iberian group includes:
- Eastern Iberian languages: Catalan
- Western Iberian languages: Spanish (Castillano), Portuguese, Galician language (Galego), Ladino, Leonese, etc.
- the langues d'oïl (including French) and several other languages of France including Franco-Provençal
- the Langues d'oc of Southern France and neighbouring areas including Provençal, Gascon etc.
- The Gallo-Italian languages include Piedmontese, Ligurian, Insubric or Western Lombard, Eastern Lombard, Emiliano-Romagnolo
- The Veneto languages includes Veneto, Istro-veneto
- The Rhaeto-Romance languages include Romansh of Switzerland, Ladin of Dolomites area, Friulian of Friuli
