A Guatemalan American is an American of Guatemalan decent. The number of Guatemalans in the U.S. in 2005 was estimated by the US Census Bureau at 758,898 +/- 37,568[1], while the International Organization for Migration (IOM) estimated it at about 1.10 million, according to James Smith of Inforpress Centroamericana[2].
