[edit] Early years

Born in Compton, B.G. Knocc Out grew up in neighbouring cities, Compton and Watts. Along with his brother, he is Crips gang member, associated with Nutty Blocc Compton Crips set.[2] He started rapping after being inspired by Eazy-E's song Boyz-n-the-Hood. B.G. Knocc Out was also a part of a short-lived group called Youths At Risk.[3]

Dresta had reputation of rapping when he was in California Youth Authority. Eazy-E eventually discovered the brothers, met up and recorded songs with them.[4]

He was first signed to Toenail Records and later to Ruthless Records, with Eazy-E. With Dresta, B.G. Knocc Out appeared on the Eazy-E's 1993 double-platinum EP It's On (Dr. Dre) 187um Killa on single "Real Muthaphuckkin G's" (which was censored to "Real Compton City G's" in order to garner MTV and radio airplay), taking shots at Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg after they had dissed Eazy-E on several songs from The Chronic.

Thanks to the success of the album's signature track, they gained exposure and were inspired to record an album of their own. Dresta and B.G. Knocc Out released their first album Real Brothas in 1995. B.G. Knocc Out made three guest appearances in Eazy-E's posthumous album Str8 off tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton.

[edit] Recent years

B.G. Knocc Out was sentenced to 10 years in prison for an attempted murder in 1998.[4] He converted to Islam while incarcerated in Soledad Correctional Facility.[3][4] B.G. Knocc Out was released on August 2006.

After his release he recorded songs with Spider Loc of G-Unit, Lil Eazy E and also made amends with his former fierce rivals Tha Dogg Pound and featured on their album Dogg Chit. He also featured with several other artists.

On September 2007 his official website confirmed reports that he was incarcerated yet again and released a statement by his wife in which she states that he has been wrongfully charged and arrested on false allegations.[5] According to his website he is to be released on November 21.

B.G. Knocc Out has stated that he is planning to record another album after his release. He stated in 2006:[3]

The fans can expect straight heat from a new B.G. Knocc Out album. The lyrics will be heated and the beats will be slamming. Otherwise I'll never record another album. Thus I'll only put out the best or nothing at all.
