El directorio enciclopédico desde la Wikipedia.

The name 1st Division has been used for two different units of the Australian Army:

  • In 1914, the Australian 1st Division (World War I) was raised as part of the First Australian Imperial Force. When World War I ended the division was demobilised.
  • In 1921, the Australian 1st Division (World War II) name was revived and was assigned to an Australian Citizens Military Forces (reserve) unit, elements of which served in the South West Pacific Area during World War II.
  • Today, the 1st Division (Australia) is also known as the Deployable Joint Force Headquarters, and is the primary expeditionary formation, responsible for most of the units of the Australian regular army.
