The "Catalogue of Women" (7th century BC) presents an aitiology for the various tribes of the Greeks (Hellenes), deriving them from Hellen and Pandora, the children of Deukalion and Pyrrha. Pandora (named after her grandmother Pandora) together with Zeus had three sons: Graecus, Magnetas and Makednos, while Hellen had the three sons Dorus, Xuthus (with his sons Ion and Achaeus) and Aeolos, corresponding to the founders of the seven tribes of the (Boeotian) Graecians, the (Thessalian) Magnetes, the Macedonians, the Dorians, the Ionians, the Achaeans and the Aeolians, respectively.
