Akmal Rizal Ahmad Rakhli (born on December 12, 1981) is a Malaysian footballer who is a striker for Selangor FA. He is a member of the Malaysian national team and also has played for the Malaysian Pre-Olympic squad. He is well known for his finishing ability. He also possess good technique as praised by the legendary Liverpool F.C striker Ian Rush during a clinic for Malaysian strikers. Apart from that, he is one of the first batch of Malaysians to train overseas.

The public started to notice him when he played for Malaysia under-14 football team. Since then, he went a step further and trained at RC Strasbourg, often loaned to their sister club FCSR Haguenau. After unable to tie a contract with RC Strasbourg, he returned home to played for his hometown club, Kedah FA.

With Kedah FA, He became an instant hit with the local fans and also the envy of other clubs in the M-League. But, towards the end of his career with Kedah FA, he had been plagued with knee injuries. In December 2006, he signed for Selangor FA and made a couple of appearances as a substitute since recovering from his injury. He scored his first goal for Selangor FA in the 1-2 Malaysia Cup match loss against Melaka TMFC on 17 March 2007.

He represented Malaysia under 23 for the 2003 SEA Games in Hanoi, Vietnam where Malaysia finish as bronze medalist, the olympic qualifier in 2000 and 2004, the Asia English Premier League Cup and also in the senior team for 2002 Tiger Cup in Thailand, helping Malaysia to a 4th place finish.

He also part of Malaysia disastrous AFC Asian Cup 2007. He was selected by Norizan Bakar even he has never represent Malaysia since 2004 because of injury problem. He only play two games in the tournament against China as starting eleven and against Uzbekistan as substitute. His last appearance with the national team was against Indonesia.

He was released by Selangor FA at the end of 2007/2008 season. He later join Kuala Muda NAZA FC for 2009 Malaysia League season.
